Achievements

The Vinci Technologies GADIS system is the perfect example of development that contributes to tackle the dual problem of energy crisis and environmental degradation.  The tool analyses the behaviours and mechanisms of enhanced shale gas recovery (ESGR) by CO2 injection.  This technique has the merits of both increasing the natural gas production to address the global energy crisis as well as simultaneously the geological storage of CO2 to reduce the anthropogenic greenhouse gas emissions. Thanks to the tool, the influence of pressure, temperature, moisture and gas type on isothermal adsorption and desorption of shale gas is analysed based on shale adsorption and desorption experiments. The adsorption and desorption abilities of CO2 and CH4 in shale are compared as well as the ultimate recovery of depletion production and CO2 injection production.
