COREVAL700-Porosity and unsteady gas permeabilty meter

Description

The COREVAL permeameter and porosimeter offers an advanced alternative for measuring the porosity and permeability of plug-sized core samples using helium or nitrogen. It is particularly effective for evaluating samples with low permeability that are beyond the capability of steady-state permeameters. This instrument comes equipped with a data acquisition and computation station for enhanced convenience. It utilizes an unsteady-state, pressure fall-off method to determine gas permeability, and then calculates equivalent liquid permeability as well as slip and turbulence factors through linear interpolation. Porosity is accurately measured via isothermal nitrogen expansion, applying Boyle’s and Charles’ laws to determine pore and grain volumes with the aid of a core holder and a matrix cup. For higher throughput, the COREVAL is also available in a multi-sample variant, the KEYPHI, which allows for a series of analyses to be performed automatically without the need for operator intervention.
