RC 4500-Overburden centrifuge for CO2-brine Pc and Kr

Description

The refrigerated centrifuge assesses the primary capillary pressure of binary brine/CO2 systems, determining the capacity of CO2 that can be injected into the storage rock matrix and the extent to which capillary forces can retain CO2 within the rock matrix. This measurement can be performed concurrently on as many as six core samples, replicating reservoir conditions of temperature and pressure to simulate carbon geo-sequestration. The constant monitoring of brine production enables the derivation of brine/CO2 relative permeability curves. This information is valuable for optimizing Carbon storage processes and ensuring the safe and efficient storage of CO2 and other substances underground.
