The VINCI Technologies Drill Pipe Cable Protector is a purpose-built solution designed to protect wireline cables from mechanical damage during logging operations. Installed on the drill pipe, it creates a controlled stand-off between the pipe external upset and the casing, preventing cable nipping and abrasion in critical zones. The protector features a rugged steel cage bonded to a high-performance rubber compound, ensuring durability and long-term reliability downhole. Its quick and easy installation is enabled by forged stainless-steel locking pins with an arrow-head design that improves insertion and minimizes hang-up risks. The advanced cage geometry provides positive gripping, requiring more than 2,500 lbs of axial load to move, ensuring the protector remains securely in place. Different rubber compounds are available to suit oil-based or high-gas well environments. The spiral design promotes smooth mud flow and minimizes turbulence in high-velocity conditions.
