PDP200-Pulse decay permeameter

Description

Evaluating the sealing cap rock's low permeability is critical in a carbon storage reservoir to ensure it can effectively block CO2 from escaping upwards and contaminating groundwater. The PDP200 is engineered for precisely this task, employing the pulse-decay method to provide accurate permeability readings between 0.01 microdarcies and 0.1 millidarcies. It measures pressure differential decay in the rock sample at set intervals, all within a temperature-regulated enclosure that guarantees stable testing conditions. This enclosure houses twin stainless steel reservoirs for fluid dynamics, supported by high-precision pressure transducers for detailed monitoring of pressure gradients. Enhanced with zero-volume-change valves, the PDP200 is integrated with a computerized station for robust data collection and analysis, securing precise interpretation of the rock's permeability profile.
