Description
The FIELD GEOSCAN is the field-deployable version of Vinci’s well-established Rock-Eval instrument designed for the geochemical analysis of rock samples. It operates with a single oven that performs both pyrolysis and oxidation cycles, allowing the determination of key hydrocarbon and kerogen parameters such as S1, S2, Tpeak, and Tmax through high-temperature pyrolysis. Analytical programs can be configured with single or multiple heating ramps, typically ranging from about 40 °C (or ambient +20 °C) up to 850 °C. Samples are introduced individually into the oven using a loading piston. The system can also be optionally upgraded to measure additional parameters such as S3, S4, S5, TIC (Total Inorganic Carbon), and TOC (Total Organic Carbon), enabling a more comprehensive characterization of the sample’s carbon content and thermal properties. All data are automatically processed using our dedicated geochemistry software, GEOWORKS.
