CDS-Addon crystallization detection system

Description

The initiation of salt precipitation is crucial to understand for CO2 injection and storage in brines, as salt accumulation can reduce permeability, damage injectors, and decrease CO2 storage capacity. The SCS system detects salt deposition in a CO2 brine complex by measuring light transmittance through fiber optic probes, identifying when salt starts to crystallize based on factors like pressure, temperature, and dissolved salt concentrations. With two essential probes and specialized software, the SCS quantifies light changes due to salt interactions, determining the exact conditions that trigger salt precipitation.
