UC20-Ultra-speed centrifuge
Description
The Ultra-speed centrifuge enables rapid determination of capillary pressure characteristics and relative permeability curves on six 1” or 30-mm core samples or three 1.5” core sample simultaneously. It can also be utilized for rapid sample preparation to restore state conditions for subsequent testing in various test equipment. Custom designed sample chambers offer the ability to spin core plug samples at rotational speeds up to 20,000 rpm. It includes a rotor and cells (core holders) which can accommodate either 1”, 30-mm or 1.5” diameter cores. A digital speed control with the ability to ramp speeds at specified intervals and a precision temperature control system is included. An over-temperature setpoint stops the centrifuge if the temperature exceeds the setpoint by a specified value. The system is also equipped with a sensor for rotor imbalance. It is equipped with a digital camera system that allows to user to measure the displaced fluid volumes in each of the cells sequentially.
The ultra-centrifuge allows drainage tests to be performed on consolidated and unconsolidated core samples. Three models of rotor are available:
* 3 position rotor for 1.5” diameter core samples up to 2” long (max. rotation speed 16,500 rpm with drainage buckets 15,000 rpm with imbibition buckets)
* 6 position rotor for 1” diameter core samples up to 1” long (max. rotation speed 20,000 rpm with drainage buckets 16,000 rpm with imbibition buckets)
* 6 position rotor for 30-mm diameter core samples up to 30mm long (max. rotation speed 18,000 rpm with drainage buckets 16,000 rpm with imbibition buckets)
For each rotor, two models of buckets are available:
* Drainage bucket
* Imbibition bucket
A 1.5 Megapixel Gigabit camera and a dedicated video acquisition software enables automatic detection of one or two interfaces between immiscible fluids (water, oil, gas) in a calibrated receiving tube (different volumes are available)
